Can I move an event I started in my own account into a Pro workspace?

It happens on its own. When you open your Pro workspace, every chart you made as a couple that holds anything, tables, guests, a room, becomes an event of its own in the workspace, named after the chart. Nothing to export or re-import.

A chart you had shared with an editor keeps that person as its client with full layout access, since that is what they had before.
