Can I import my guest list from Excel?

Not directly yet. Save your Excel sheet as a CSV file first, then import that. PlanSeats reads CSV, TSV and TXT files; an Excel file dropped on the panel is refused with a note asking for CSV.

1. In Excel choose File, then Save As.
2. Pick CSV UTF-8 (Comma delimited) as the format. Excel warns that only the active sheet is saved, which is fine.

Choosing the UTF-8 option keeps accents and apostrophes in names intact. Keep one guest per row and a header row with column names.
